Does Capitalism lead to divisions between rich and poor?

Postby admin » Tue Nov 27, 2012 10:43 pm

Does Capitalism automatically lead to divisions between rich and poor?

Yes. Capitalism, by nature, creates a division between the rich and poor because it fails to control human greed. By contrast, communism fails to control human laziness and inertia. This is not to say that capitalism is inherently evil - the divisions between rich and poor created as a function of greed and a desire on the part of people in control to gain an ever-increasing amount of wealth can be mitigated by conscientious people who wish to ensure a fair shake for those at the bottom of the ladder. However, the truly free-market economy allows for people to price-fix, collude, and tamper with the market - giving an unquestionable advantage to the "haves" as opposed to the "have-nots".
